About White Widow
White Widow is one of the most famous and appreciated cannabis strains in the world. There are two main theories about the origins of White Widow. One theory says that Shantibaba developed the strain during his time at Green House Seeds. The other theory attributes the development to a Dutch breeder named Ingemar, who claims to have found the seeds in a batch of hashish and perfected the strain over several years. The exact genetic origins of White Widow are disputed, but most reports agree that it is a cross between a Brazilian sativa landrace and a resin-rich indica from southern India.
The strain was released in 1994 and quickly gained notoriety, including winning the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1995. White Widow is known for its dense, resinous buds covered in a layer of trichomes that give it a whitish-grey appearance and give the strain its name.
